Artist Profile

Speaking to the Guardian about his Diplo-produced forthcoming debut album, 25-year-old Alex Clare from Golders Green told the newspaper that, "It's about people waking up in a strange place and not realising how they got there.” Erm, has this ever happened to you, Alex? “Well, I've dabbled in insomnia,” he replied but not somnambulism." What a relief! Alex’s music smashes genre definitions by creating a hybrid of sample-based beats, dubstep and industrial aesthetics, all married by Clare’s soul and blues vocals. Apparently he used to date Amy Winehouse too! What a lad. Anyway, if that sounds like your cup of tea  (and why the heck wouldn’t it?) then you can checkout Alex at the The Great Escape Festival in Brighton.
